Rosary Circle
FAMILY ROSARY CIRCLE"I say to you that if two of you shall consent
upon earth concerning anything whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be done to
them by my Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 18: 19).
Commentary: If two, then how much more if 50 or 60!
PURPOSE
The aim of the Family Rosary Circle is to pray the rosary for each other's
families - all those enrolled in the Circle - including any special intentions
of the individual members.
"ROSARY"
The rosary - 5 decades - should be said for all the members of the Circle one
day each week.
"FAMILY"
There must be at least two living together, whether a husband and wife, or
brothers and sisters, to count as a family, and where there are more than two in
the family, at least two members must say the rosary together for it to count as
the family rosary for the week. Individuals will be admitted into the Circle,
and be counted as a family, only if there be no other member in the household
belonging to the chapel.
"CIRCLE"
The Family Rosary Circle is intended mainly, but not exclusively, for members of
Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel. It is not being promoted as a national or
international organization; that purpose is fulfilled by the traditional Rosary
Confraternity, which has its own rules.
OBLIGATION
Enrollment in the Family Rosary Circle has the binding force of a promise or
word of honor, not otherwise under pain of any sin. The only penalty for failure
to say the weekly rosary is loss of the family's benefit from the Circle
rosaries for the week missed. Otherwise in fairness to all those who are
faithfully fulfilling their own obligation, all in your own family should be
faithful in saying the family rosary for them. But if you decide at any time to
drop out, please let us know, so that we can keep an accurate record of the
actual number
of families in the Circle. (Names will not be published.)
RECOMMENDATION
To better remember and keep your commitment, say the rosary on the same day and
at the same time (such as following dinner) each week.
